General description:
The centralised system of the AIRCAPT Multipoint MP8+ allows both simultaneous and/or sequential sampling of a number of independent sampling lines. These are connected to a single Biocapt sampling head that is placed in pre-defined points for monitoring purposes. The system is capable of controlling up to a maximum of 8+8 independent sampling lines, with no limit to the amount of simultaneous samples conducted. The autonomy of the sampling line allows programming of either serial or parallel sampling sequence, thereby enabling flexible sampling regimes to be constructed to meet the biological monitoring requirements. Every sampling line is carefully controlled to ensure an operating range of 25/l/min, supplying all the fluid-dynamic condition necessary to guarantee the quality of the logged data.
Characteristics:
AirCapt MP8+ system uses as its pneumatic component for the sampling line, a vacuum system that is able to work up to a pressure of approximately 15 mBar. These conditions are maintained in every line, even during a simultaneous sampling of 16 points.
All sampling lines are connected to a centralised vacuum system through a metal manifold with the flow rate set up using a micrometric regulation valve.
The fluid-dynamic conditions are such that the exit speed of the air through micrometric valve is equal to the speed of the sound. Consequently the flow rate is independent from any variation in the downstream pressure of the sampling lines, ensuring a sample of constant capacity (principle of the critical orifice). In order to ensure the high quality measurement and control of the flow, all values are measured in real time. This is stored by measuring the absolute pressure of each line upstream of the micrometric valve and the temperature and pressure of the air downstream of the sampling lines.
The system also measures and maintains the atmospheric pressure that is required to maintain the quality control of the volumetric capacity in the sampling points.
Each line is also controlled by a solenoid valve, which ensures no cross contamination from the sterile area (where the sampling point is placed) to the non-sterile area where the instrument will be placed. All the valves are normally closed.
