ANIMAL TOPFLOW

CHANGING CAGES WORKBENCH

Introduction and application
Animal cages should be opened and serviced within a Top Flow Workbench that provides Class 100 laminar flow air. Appropriate aseptic techniques are required to help assure protection of the animals. This mobile unit is used for the manipulation, handling and transferring of animals to clean cages.

Definition
HEPA filtered air (99,999% efficient to 0,3 micron particles, H14 as for EN 1822) flows from the back of the workbench, pulling airborne particulate from the cages and into the air intake on the front edge of the workbench. The airflow exhaust capture reduces exposure of personnel to particulate escaping from cages and helps protect animals from personnel and from cross contamination between cages. Located on the top of the workbench is a HEPA filtered exhaust port that returns clean filtered air to the room. This exhaust feature increases the intake capture at the sash opening and recirculates clean air into the room.

Main technical specification
Double HEPA filtration (recirculation and exhaust);
HEPA filter for recirculation (@ 70%) with 99,999% DOP test efficiency at 0,3 mm H14 as for EN 1822, installed on the back of working area
HEPA filter for exhaust air (@ 30%) with 99,999% DOP test efficiency at 0,3 mm H14 as for EN 1822 Pre-filter installed upon the working surface, to prevent blockage of motor blower
Cleanness of air in working area Class 100 or M 3.5 according to FS209E Main and Exhaust filters HEPA are fitted according to negative seal principle to avoid any escape of contaminated particles.
